Guiding Principles: Our number one goal in the Win-E-Mac reopening plan is to provide a safe environment for staff and students while still providing an equitable education for all students. We will take the necessary steps and precautions as guided by the Minnesota Department of Health and Polk County Public Health in making our school safe. Under their guidance, Win-E-Mac has hired Cassie Senn to be our COVID-19 Coordinator. She will be the contact for COVID-19 related health issues and questions.
Our school staff, Board members and Administration have put countless hours in the creation of the Win-E-Mac plan. I would like to thank those people for their hard work. We believe this plan fits our school and community.
2020-21 School Year Plan
On Thursday morning, the School Board approved a Reopening plan (see the red button above) for students in Pre-K through 6th grade to attend school full in-person every day, and students in 7th through 12th grade will follow a hybrid model. This means the high school students will be in class two days a week with learning at home three days a week under the supervision of the teacher for each class. If students need more time in class, arrangements will be made through the Principal.
With the guidance of Polk County Public Health and MDH, the case numbers in the county will be monitored weekly and will be communicated to the school if we need to change our Learning Model. If we were to go to a Hybrid Model in the Elementary, we have included a color-coded calendar. We want parents to begin making plans with your family as to how this will work for student learning at home if conditions worsen.
** The behaviors of the community will determine the model of operations for our school, so we ask everyone to be protective and be safe.
