Daily Bulletin: October 7, 2020

Thought for the day:  A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes. 

Parent-Teacher Conferences have been changed from October 8 to Wednesday, October 21 from 1:00-7:30 p.m.  Thursday, October 8th will now become a full school day for staff and students.  The school will be dismissed at 12:30 on Wednesday, October 21.  Parent-Teacher Conference format will be conducted virtually or by phone.  Further information will be coming out of school or your child’s teacher.

 

Drivers Education Classroom instruction will begin on Monday, October 19th from 3:15-6:00 p.m. in Mr. Ian Hanson’s room.    The dates of the class are October 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29, 30 November 2, 3 and the 5th will be a make-up day.  Students are expected to complete 30 hours of required instruction.  The cost is $60 and should be sent in with the registration form by Wednesday, October 14th.  Students enrolled in Drivers Education need to be 15 years old by June 1.  Notice that there will be no classes on Wednesdays.  Students will follow their usual RED/BLUE days of school.  When it is your day to be in school you will be in person for the classroom portion.  When it is your day to be home, you will join through zoom.  Please pick up forms in the office.  

 

Homecoming for elementary will be October 26-30 and homecoming for the high school will be October 26-30 and November 2-6 (this is so students can do all dress-up days in high school – this will make sense once we send out the dress-up days).

 

Join Cub Scout Pack 89 for the Cub Scout Kickoff on Tuesday, October 13th at 5:30-6:30 pm at Rydell Refuge in rural Erskine! This will be an opportunity to meet with local scouts and their families to learn more about Scouting or if you are already a member to plan the upcoming program year. It will also be an opportunity to take in the fresh air and hike the beautiful Rydell refuge! Scouting has a rich tradition of guiding youth to be leaders and positive members of society both today and in the years to come. Cub Scouts is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  In addition to the Cub Scout Kickoff, there will also be an opportunity for boys and girls in 6th grade and up to join or learn more about Scouts BSA, which will be new this year!  Come join us and learn what Scouting is all about!  If there are any questions, please call Phil at 563-2337.

 

Students – please remember to pick up your Spotlight on Scholarship, Student Council, and Riverwatch awards from last spring in the office.

 

Lunch today will be chicken fajitas, lettuce, salsa, grape tomatoes, banana loaf, fruit, and milk.  Breakfast tomorrow will be pop tart, yogurt cup, juice, and milk.  Lunch on Thursday will be crispies, lettuce, salsa, fresh vegetable, fruit, and milk.
