The 2023 Win-E-Mac School District Spelling Bee was held at 8:30 on Tuesday, January 24th in the Arts & Events Center. Sixteen spellers from fifth through eighth grades competed in the Spelling Bee. In the end, Megan McGlynn, a sixth-grader, was the champion and will be competing at the Regional Spelling Bee in Thief River Falls on Wednesday, February 8th.
Taking second place was Hayden Johnson, from eighth grade. Taking third place was Stella Davis, a sixth grader. In all, 118 words were used in the competition over the course of 10 official rounds (plus a practice round). The championship word was “crevices”.
