Still Seeing School Apps on Purchased iPads?

I have had a few questions come my way regarding still seeing school apps on purchased iPads. Each iPad was released, erased, and removed from our system individually, so all school apps should have been cleared. However, what you might be seeing are bookmarks (to the UFLI website or the WEM website) that for some reason came back after your iPad was erased. Thankfully, removing those is a fairly easy process:

  1. Open the “Settings” app.
  2. Select “General” at the left.
  3. Select “VPN & Device Management” at the right.
  4. Tap the red button to remove “Mosyle MDM”.

That’s it! UFLI and WEM will disappear after following these steps. It may still say in the Settings app: “This iPad is managed by the Win-E-Mac Public School District” or something similar. I promise that all the 250 iPads that have been sold so far have been removed from my MDM, and I have not held onto any control over them. I’m not sure why the management notice is still there; hopefully, it will go away over time. If you have any other questions, email me: technology@wemschools.org. Thanks!
