Win-E-Mac and Fosston High Schools will be presenting their One Act Plays to the public on Sunday, January 19th, starting at 3:00 pm in the Win-E-Mac Arts & Event Center! Admission will be free will donation. (Proceeds will be split between WEM and Fosston and will go to support theatre arts programs in both schools.)
Win-E-Mac will be performing “The Bear” by Jon Jory. Director Andrew Hanson had this to say about the play: “The Bear is certainly one of the more bizarre scripts that I’ve chosen in a while. James is dissatisfied with life and goes missing. His family and friends are concerned about him. The bizarre part comes when James encounters a bear while hiking the Appalachian Trail and learns the meaning of life from him. Part comedy, part tragedy, I’ve really come to love this script.”
Fosston students, under the direction of Abby Pearson, will be presenting The Post Office by Melissa Leilani Larson. “Plagued by a mysterious illness, teenage shut-in Ash longs to see the world. But she refuses to be sad, instead befriending strangers as they parade past her window, helping each one smile despite their war-torn land’s darkness and dystopia. When Ash learns that the building being constructed near her home is a new post office, she dreams of a life spent delivering the mail and traveling beyond her small village.”
We hope that you can come to our afternoon of One Act Plays!
