By Randy Bruer

Vape Detection

Our school has vape detectors in each restroom with cameras located outside the door entrance. When an alarm sounds, we are able to detect who the person is coming out of the restroom immediately. This is considered a tobacco product and will be disciplined accordingly. Please take time to speak with your children about the products they may be using.

Digital Tools

Win-E-Mac School uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software is utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. We will have an inventory soon of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools, which will be posted on our website at wemschools.org which includes an outline of the student data elements within each tool. This list is maintained and will be communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year. If we have an imminent threat to life or safety, schools are required by MN State Statute 2020, section 13.32, Subd. 14.

To notify students and parents, within 72 hours of the access, that the school-issued device was accessed and a written description of the interaction, including which features of the device were accessed and a description of the threat.

Please reach out to the District Office or Andrew Hanson, WEM Tech, for additional questions regarding specific digital tools used in classrooms.
